The True Christian's Love to the Unseen Christ
Vincent, Thomas
This is one of the most poignant books ever to come from a Puritan pen. Thomas Vincent (1634-1678) was the brother of Nathanael Vincent, who wrote one of the treatises in The Puritans on Conversion. This pricelessdevotional is based on 1 Peter 1:8, "Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, you love..." There is, ofcourse, nothing more basic in Christianity than love to Christ. It is difficult to describe the passionatelove for Christ that flows from every page of this treatment of the beauty of Christ. This is a warmbath for a weary soul. In the foreword to the book, John MacArthur says, "This book is amuch-needed tonic for a cold and decaying church. Drink deeply of it and let it quench your soul'scraving. The truth it contains will transform your walk with our blessed Lord." This edition has alengthy sketch of the author, and is completely retypeset for easier reading.  H/B, 127 pages

The Mischief of Sin
Watson, Thomas
This scarce volume was first published in 1671, and there has never been a second printing until now. This is Watson's treatment on sin, containing four parts: "The Mischief of Sin," "The Desperateness of Sinners," "An Alarm to Sinners," and "Hell's Furnace Heated Hotter." The appendix is called, "The Mystery of the Lord’s Supper." In his forward to this book, John MacArthur says, "The book enriched and expanded my own understanding of sin and grace beyond anything I could have anticipated. Thomas Watson's study of sin is profound, convicting, thought-provoking, and filled with rich spiritual insight. It distills the best attributes of Puritan writing. As devotional as it is doctrinal, as practical as it is biblically sound, and as delightful as it is convicting, this book cuts to the very heart of the biblical issues regarding sin. You cannot read it and remain indifferent toward sin in your own life. you will find this book a tremendous uplift as your soul is infused with a holy hatred of sin and a new appreciation for the boundless riches of God's grace. Few books have moved me as this one did."  H/B, 163 pages
